why i love my students

last friday i received a momento from my final year student, Gavin. he gave me a plaque with a poem.. sooo nice.. the poem reads

TEACHER

We may not always value what you strive to do each day

We may not always listen to your words or care what you might say

One day we'll know that all you gave will take us very far

You opened up our minds to learn and made us who we are

huuu.. i feel like crying laa.. hehe.. this is why i love my students. the way they made me feel each time i succesfully guided them during lectures etc.. this make me determine to do more and to achieve more.. insyaAllah.

to all my graduated students, all the best to you.. May God Be With You Always.

final year students dinner

Yesterday me and mr harris went to the final year students' dinner at Sunway Hotel. the students are class of 2008 that will be graduating this month. eventhough the dinner was a very simple occasion and not many students attended due to the fact that some of the students will start working next week, still the event was very nice. this graduating batch seems to have good time and manage to be humour and make us (lecturers) laugh. few lecturers attended the event including me, mr harris, AP Dr Badorul Hisham (dean's rep), Dr Leong, mr Shaharuddin and mrs Shafida. Although the event started quite late but the meal was nice.




I really had good time last night. i wish all the graduating students the best in their undertakings and don't forget about us in USM once you graduated.

Work updates

I've finished marking EAG 245- Soil Mechanics papers yesterday. overall students performances is average. but still there are some students who scored high. phewww.. legaaa.. i thought that the questions were too hard, but still there's students who manage to get high marks.. since there will be ample time during this break, i'll take a good look into my notes and try to get it posted on my official website so that students will be able to download my notes online. yeay! my official website

As today finally i got a postgraduate student. Shahnifanizam was previously under my supervisions during his final year project. he seems interested to continue his study and i am willingly become his supervisor. so, good luck to you nizam.. all the best!
